Unbeaten Run Comes To An End
Wycombe Wanderers 4 - 1 Leyton Orient
Puma Youth Alliance South East Conference
THE youth team's six-match unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday when they fell to a 4-1 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers.
On a day to forget in Buckinghamshire, Orient saw a 1-0 half time lead turn into a heavy defeat as they were punished for a poor performance.
Youth team manager Kevin Nugent said: "It was a bad day at the office and probably the most disappointing result and performance of the season.
"It looked like we had it cracked in terms of consistency recently, but if you have seven or eight players below par as we did today, you're not going to get results.
"We'll now have to pick ourselves up and get going again in the next match."
Adam Bolle gave the O's a first half lead, taking Harry Baker's cross down in the box before turning and finishing neatly.
But that was the sole bright spot for the O's, who could well have gone in at the interval behind.
Wycombe took advantage of their superiority after the interval and Orient could have few complaints at the comprehensive final scoreline.
Orient: Jack Giddins; Brandon Martin, Chris Robson, Frankie Webb, Tom Kemp; Harry Baker, Jack Page, Bradley Gray, Loick Pires (Patrick O'Donnell 75); Adam Bolle, Adam Marsh (Henry Atu 70)
