Sports promoter Barry took over Orient in April 1995 when the club was in dire financial straits.

The entrepreneur can always be relied upon to hit the headlines with his events, and his publicity stunts usually cause more than the odd raised eyebrow.

He made his name in the 1980s in the world of snooker, taking the game to the Far East and promoting the stars of the baize such as Steve Davis, Jimmy White and later Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Hearn soon broke in to boxing, working with big-names like Chris Eubank and Prince Naseem Hamed and promoting any number of world title bouts.

His Matchroom stable is now a major TV production company, sending hours of live and recorded footage around the world of sports such as snooker, darts, boxing, pool, fishing, golf and the ground-breaking Poker Million competition.
