LOSC Make Donation To Club
PRIOR to Saturday's match with Northampton Town, O's Chairman Barry Hearn was presented with a cheque for £40,000 at the Supporters Club as its donation for the 2006/07 season.
The donation and those for the next several seasons are to be designated for funding of the fit out of the new West Stand dressing room area. A plaque to record the project is to be fitted in the tunnel area shortly.
This project is one of many that the club has engaged in over the years since it's was reconstituted in 1977 and Supporters Club Chairman David Dodd commented when presenting the cheque to Barry Hearn that it was with great satisfaction that the club has been able to support the O's in such a meaningful fashion through the years.
He thanked club members for their ongoing support in making these donations to the O's possible and added his further appreciation to the club committee for their tireless help and enthusiasm, all on a voluntary basis, in assisting the running of the Supporters Club.
In accepting the cheque, Barry Hearn paid tribute to David and his committee for all their efforts and wished to place on record his thanks to club members for their support.
On Saturday the Supporters Club passed the 1000 member milestone which David Dodd commented was a fantastic response by O's fans at such an early stage of the new season. The club's new West Stand facilities, he added, have certainly proved to be very popular and have enabled the club to move forward with it's activities and the support it is able to give to the O's.
