Full Orient Debut: Away v Notts County (W1-0, September 3 2007)
Former Birmingham City defender Sam Oji returned to his home city in January 2008 when he joined Orient on a six-month contract.
He spent three months on loan at Brisbane Road in the early part of the 2007/08 season, and although he only made four appearances during that time, Ling was keen to make the move permanent once the transfer window opened.
Oji initially arrived in August to cover for Brian Saah's injury and he made his debut in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Notts County.
He started his first League game for the club on January 19, and it was a successful afternoon as Orient ran out 2-1 winners.
Oji began his career as a youth player at Arsenal, but went on to sign a professional contract with Birmingham as an 18-year-old.
His sole Blues appearance came in an FA Cup tie against Reading in the 2005/06 season, but he has played in nine Football League games during loan spells at Doncaster and Bristol Rovers.
