O's Hopeful Over Gray Injury
ORIENT are hopeful that the knee injury sustained by Wayne Gray in Saturday's win over Bristol Rovers will not require surgery.
The 27-year-old striker scored an early goal in the 3-1 victory, but had to be withdrawn at half-time due to the injury.
A scan on Tuesday revealed a strain to his medial ligament, but the club remain hopeful that surgery will not be needed to repair any damage to his cruciate ligament.
The scans this week proved inconclusive on that front, and Gray will need to have the injury reassessed by a specialist in four weeks time.
O's manager Martin Ling said: "The scans showed damage to the medial ligament, but they were inconclusive on the cruciate.
"We hope that it won't require surgery, but Wayne now faces an anxious wait to find out."
