JABO IBEHRE bade an emotional farewell to Leyton Orient after eight years at the club on Tuesday afternoon.

The 25-year-old striker was told that he was not to be offered a new contract at Brisbane Road, ending a long association with the O's.

Islington-born Ibehre scored 41 goals in 242 appearances for the Londoners and he thanked the supporters for the backing he received during his time at Orient.

He said: "I've had a magnificent time at Leyton Orient and it's weird to think that I'm leaving after all this time here.

"I had a great connection with the fans here, and I've really enjoyed my football, especially this year.

"There has been so much positive change at the club in the last few years, so I'm sad to be leaving and I'd like to say thanks to the fans, who have been brilliant to me through thick and thin.

"I'm very grateful for that and I'll hold them close to my heart forever."
