WAYNE GRAY'S seventh goal of the season was enough to give Orient victory at Millwall on Saturday and fire them right back into the play-off picture.

The O's now sit level on points with sixth-placed Walsall and Gray believes Saturday's win at The Den could spark a renewed promotion push.

"The main thing was the win - it wasn't pretty out there, but we all battled and got our just rewards," he said.

"It's so close at the top and the back-to-back wins that we've managed now have put us right back in the mix.

"We've got a lot of games coming up against soon against the top sides, so if we can take points off them you never know where we could end up.

"It's Carlisle next week and everyone will be confident because we've won two games in a row.

"I scored on Saturday, Boydy got two against Swindon and Jabo's been scoring recently too, so it's been good from our point of view and hopefully we can continue that against Carlisle."

Gray displayed a calm head to convert JJ Melligan's second half cross and the summer arrival from Yeovil also had praise for the defensive work of his team.

He continued: "I nearly got on the end of the first chance - it bounced on the line and span away - but thankfully the ball came back in again from JJ and I managed to put it away.

"Millwall had 10 men and we had 11, but it did seem like the other way round.  We had to work hard and dig in to get the right result in the end.

"The back four were immense, and that gave us the platform we needed to go on and win the game."
