Queens Park Rangers 3 - 4 Leyton Orient
Pontin's Holidays Combination Central Division

ORIENT'S reserves edged a see-saw derby against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night, with triallist Jeff Goulding bagging a late winner.

Both sides led an eventful game, but it was Orient - whose only professional on show was Glenn Morris - who prevailed.

Raphael Sylvester was on target twice, while Loick Pires and Goulding, who gave a good account of himself up front, also made the scoresheet.

Jack Page and Harry Baker both went close for the O's early on before Sylvester gave them a 17th minute lead.

Goulding was heavily involved, running at the R's backline before slipping in Page, who squared for Sylvester to tap home.

Ten minutes later Goulding converted a Pires cross, but he was denied by a marginal offside decision.

And within 60 seconds, Rangers had levelled the game, Angelo Balenta clipping a sumptuous ball over the top for Antonio German to thump home via the crossbar.

Goulding then had a header well saved by Reece Crowther, but Rangers ended the half well and came close to taking the lead when Danny Davenport's 25-yard drive was parried down low by Morris.

Orient re-established a slender advantage six minutes after the interval when Pires rode a couple of challenges in the left channel before ending a fine run by passing the ball home.

But the visitors' lead was only to last a couple of minutes, with German tapping home his second of the game from close range to make it 2-2.

With 57 minutes on the clock, Rangers moved in front for the first time when centre half Aaron Goode nodded home a right wing free kick from close range.

Orient soon levelled though, Sylvester receiving a pass from Solomon Shields and unleashing a fine shot into the top corner from distance.

Both sides pushed for a winner, but it was Orient who landed the decisive blow ten minutes from time when Harry Baker skipped past Davenport down the right before clipping a ball to Goulding, who finished coolly past Crowther.
