Boyd In Team Of The Week
ADAM BOYD enjoyed Orient's 2-1 victory over Luton Town - the side he left for Brisbane Road in the summer.
The 25-year-old striker endured a barren year at Kenilworth Road, scoring just twice after completing a £500,000 move from hometown club Hartlepool United.
But a summer transfer to the O's gave him a fresh start and he showed the Hatters fans what they missed out on on Saturday.
Boyd scored Orient's opener and laid on the match-clinching second for Andy Barcham - a performance which earned him a place in the Football League's official League One Team of the Week.
He said: "It happens a lot when strikers come up against their old club that they score. I was delighted to get one today especially after the Luton fans were calling me a fat b*****d for the first 20 minutes.
"They probably have a right to give me a bit of stick, because they paid a lot of money for me and it didn't go well, but that gave me a lift and it was great to stick away the chance.
"It never worked out at Luton, but I've never had any doubts about my ability and I know there are still a lot more goals to come from me this season."
