Ibehre On Target As O's Cruise To Victory
Leyton Orient 3 - 0 Wycombe Wanderers
Pontin's Holidays Combination Central Division
ORIENT'S reserves recorded an emphatic 3-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers to register their first Combination win of the season on Tuesday.
Jabo Ibehre scored on his return from an ankle injury and second half goals from Efe Echanomi and Charlie Daniels set the seal on the O's success.
Clayton Fortune also played for 70 minutes after overcoming his shoulder problem, while there was a successful 90-minute run out for Michael Simpson, who is still training with the club as he fights to come back from a serious knee injury.
Orient wasted little time in establishing a lead, with Ibehre announcing his comeback in fine style.
Jason Demetriou created the goal, intercepting a pass from Jack Obersteller and immediately offloading the ball to Ibehre. The O's frontman held off his man, and with keeper Adam Holloway out of position, he lashed home at the near post.
But Wycombe came back into the game as the half wore on and Cherno Samba dropped a header just wide of the far post from Robbie Rice's 19th minute cross.
A couple of minutes later, former O's winger Derek Duncan fired over the crossbar after latching onto trialist Joe Schirripa's weak clearance.
Orient still looked thereatening though and Jack Page, who enjoyed an impressive first half, made a good break from midfield to receive Jabo Ibehre's pass before shooting goalwards on the half hour. A deflection took the ball away from Holloway, but it struck the post and fell to safety.
Wycombe's best moments were coming down the right hand side, and full back Rice drew another save from Morris on the stroke of half time when his low volley was fielded by the O's stopper.
Orient began the second period as they did the first, doubling their lead on 54. Ibehre was again heavily involved, flicking the ball forwards into Echanomi's path. Holloway hurt himself in the initial challenge with Echanomi, and the O's frontman turned to slot the ball past the prone stopper.
The O's were comfortable in their lead, and Daniels made it three when, with seven minutes left to play, his 30-yard drive flew past a helpless Holloway.
Orient: Glenn Morris; Brandon Martin, Samuel Oji, Clayton Fortune (Frankie Webb 71), Charlie Daniels; Jason Demetriou, Michael Simpson, Jack Page, Joe Schirripa; Jabo Ibehre (Bradley Gray 63), Efe Echanomi
