O's Sign Spurs Youngster On Season-Long Loan
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR youngster Charlie Daniels has joined the O's on a season-long loan.
Daniels, 20, can play at either left-sided midfield or left back and he becomes O's boss Martin Ling's ninth summer capture.
Ling told leytonorient.com: "Charlie is a player I've watched a lot in the past year for Tottenham's reserves and he will be a good acquisition for us.
"He is very capable in two positions and Spurs value him as one for the future - in fact, he has just signed a new two-year contract with Spurs and he went on their recent tour to South Africa.
"They felt it was best for his development if he came here to experience a year of competitive first team football so I'm pleased to get this loan sorted.
"The left-sided positions were ones that needed strengthening and it tightens up that area of the squad."
Harlow-born Daniels is awaiting his full Tottenham debut, but he has League experience from a loan spell with Chesterfield at the back end of last season - during which he appeared against the O's.
He made 12 appearances for Tottenham's reserve team during the 2006/07 season and will now be looking to push on to the next level during his year with the O's.
Daniels will wear the number three shirt.
