MARTIN LING is desperate to end the season on a high note when they face Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The O's go into the game having not won in seven starts and the Brisbane Road supermo is determined to put that run to bed.

"It's important for us to end the season with a win after the run we've had recently," he said. "We've had seven games without a win and we don't want to make that eight and have it hanging over us all summer.

"If you look at a form table over the last six games, we're probably bottom and they'd probably be second bottom.  We're certainly not two form teams and they'll be looking for the same as us on Saturday.

"Even though it's a nothing game in terms of League position, it's an important game for both of us because we want to end the campaign with a bang."

Saturday's game will be the fourth meeting between the sides this season, and with the three previous games yielding 13 goals, Ling is expecting another open affair.

He continued: "There always seem to be plenty of goals when we play Bristol Rovers and that's been the case this year in the away games this year.

"I'd expect to see an open, flowing game of football tomorrow because both teams will be playing without pressure.

"We [Ling and assistant Dean Smith] saw them play against Swindon last Tuesday and we know everything about them having played them three times already this season - it's the same for them too."

Ling's only injury absentees are Alton Thelwell (knee) and Tamika Mkandawire (groin) and he hinted that there could be roles for youngsters Solomon Shields, Bradley Gray and Loick Pires to play.

He added: "Alton and Tam are the only two missing, and a couple of youngsters may be involved from the bench.

"I don't want them to be exposed too early to something which may be difficult to handle, because we are on a poor run, so we have to careful and we have a good squad to choose from."
