MARTIN LING says his Orient side will travel to Swansea in a far more confident mood following an encouraging performance in the 1-1 draw against Doncaster last week.

The O's ended a run of five consecutive defeats with that point against the promotion chasers and now Ling wants to spoil Swansea's promotion party in front of a bumper crowd

"The performance last week against Doncaster was a lot closer to what I expect from the team," he said.

"It was nice to put in a decent display on the back of five defeats, and I think it was the best we've played for 12 games.

"We'll go to Swansea in better spirits, looking for a win now. We could still end up between ninth and 17th, and it means a lot to me to finish as high as we can.

"We could play the role of party-poopers. Doncaster came away from the game last week disappointed because we stopped them getting in the top two, and I'm sure Swansea would like to put in a good performance in their last home game.

"But they are already promoted and in their minds they could be thinking the job's already done. They've lost their last two home matches, and we've got to take advantage of that."

Orient implemented a 4-3-3 system with some success in the draw against Doncaster and Ling hinted that it could be in evidence again at Swansea.

He continued: "We've looked at both 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 in training this week because Swansea use a 4-4-2 system.

"It certainly worked last week, and we'll probably go there looking to start that way, maybe having to convert if it doesn't work as well as Swansea do line-up differently to Doncaster.

"It does add another string to out bow and it's something we can work on for next year, because we have a lot of midfield players who are more comfortable in the central areas."

Ling also added that his side have a point to prove after being thrashed by the Welshmen at Brisbane Road back in October.

"It wasn't pleasurable to lose 5-0 to Swansea earlier this season," he reflected. "They took us to the cleaners and we want to show them that we are a better side than we looked on that day."
