MARTIN LING said individual errors cost his side as they went down to a 4-2 defeat at Doncaster on Sunday.

The O's saw a 2-1 lead slip in the second period and Ling wasn't happy with his side's defensive work.

"We weren't good enough either individually or collectively as a defensive unit in the second half," he said.

"Three of the four goals were poor ones to give away and if you let three bad goals in away at Doncaster you're going to lose the game.

"It's a shame really because I felt we had more on the ball than them, especially in the first half.

"We looked sound in that opening period, but they brought on a physical presence for the second half in Jason Price, which shouldn't have caused us as many problems as it did.

"When you look at the goals, they're down to individual errors. The real kick in the guts is the second one, because we've scored a great goal to go 2-1 up and then within 20 seconds of the kick-off it's in our net.

"Charlie Daniels could have done a bit better to stop the cross, Stephen Purches definitely could have kicked it out of play, and maybe Tam could have done a little better in the middle - although that was the smallest mistake of the three.

"Three of the back four were involved in that goal and it meant the euphoria of going 2-1 up was very short-lived.

"The third goal was massively disappointing because Green's got free from a block-movement on Adam Chambers and that's cost us the game.

"We've let ourselves down defensively today and that's been our biggest deficiency this season.

"We did show resilience and character to get our noses in front with another goal for Jabo and Purch scoring too. Until their second goal they never had a period when they were in control, but they then took over the game and deserved to win it because we didn't defend well enough."
