BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION moved to within three points of the League One play-off zone with a 4-2 victory over Gillingham on Tuesday night,

Andrew Crofts gave the Gills a surprise early lead, but Brighton hit back with four unanswered goals from Nick Forster, Adam El-Abd, Tommy Elphick and Jake Robinson.

Crofts grabbed a consolation for the visitors, but it was not enough to stop them slipping to defeat.

Doncaster Rovers moved back up to second after a 1-0 win away at mid-table Bristol Rovers. Paul Heffernan scored the all-important goal with just three minutes on the clock.

Oldham Athletic missed out on the chance to replace Orient in ninth position, losing 1-0 to Michael Mackay's goal at home to Hartlepool United.

Former O's man Craig Easton was on target twice as Swindon Town beat Huddersfield Town 3-2.  Billy Paynter scored the Robins' other goal as Phil Jevons' two penalties counted for little.
