LEEDS UNITED fell out of the top six for the first time since November after being beaten 2-0 by Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Tranmere, Orient's next opponents, scored twice in eight second half minutes to inflict a second straight defeat on the Yorkshiremen.  Jennison Myrie-Williams scored Rovers' first, while new signing Ian Moore confirmed victory with the second.

At the top, Swansea City remain ten points clear after Febian Brandy struck with five minutes to go to leave Oldham Athletic empty handed.  It looked as though the Latics could be returning north with a point when a Craig Davies penalty cancelled out Gary McDonald's own goal.  But Brandy's late goal was enough to give all three points to the Swans.

Doncaster Rovers stay second after recording a convincing 3-0 win at struggling Millwall.  Jason Price, James Coppinger and Paul Green were all on target for Sean O'Driscoll's side.

Nottingham Forest's indifferent run goes on after they were beaten 2-0 at relegation-threatened AFC Bournemouth.  Young striker Sam Vokes was the Cherries hero, netting twice to give their bid to dodge the drop a shot in the arm.

The division's longest unbeaten run was finally ended on Saturday when Carlisle United triumphed 2-1 over Walsall - who had gone 17 League One games without defeat.  Lee Holmes gave the Saddlers an early lead at Brunton Park, but Carlisle struck back through Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and Danny Graham to move up to third.

Swindon Town and Northampton Town - both on the fringes of the play-off race - battled out a 1-1 draw at The County Ground.  Blair Sturrock's second half goal looked like winning it for Maurice Malpas' men, but Northampton's Adebayo Akinfenwa struck late on to grab a share of the spoils.

Big-money signing Glenn Murray started to pay back his transfer fee for Brighton & Hove Albion as two goals for the former Rochdale man, added to a Guy Butters strike, beat Crewe Alexandra 3-0 at Withdean.

Yeovil Town look to be slipping out of play-off contention and their hopes were handed a blow by a 2-0 home defeat to Huddersfield Town.  Luke Beckett and Michael Collins were the men on target for the Terriers.

Mick Harford has urged his Luton Town side to get back to basics after they were thumped 4-0 at Hartlepool United.  Two goals from Richard Barker, plus strikes from Alan Thompson and Joel Porter ease the Pools' relegation fears and leave Luton further in the mire.

Bristol Rovers left it late to defeat rock-bottom Port Vale.  The Valiants twice led at The Memorial Stadium, with Paul Harsley and Keith Lowe on target.  But after Danny Coles had earlier levelled, goals in the final ten minutes from Chris Lines and Rickie Lambert gave Rovers victory.

Finally, Gillingham and Cheltenham Town, both just outside the relegation zone, fought out a 0-0 draw at Priestfield - a result that does few favours for either team.
