EGM Resolution Approved

LEYTON ORIENT held an Extraordinary General Meeting on April 6 for the purpose of discussing a 'substantial property transaction' between the club and its chairman Barry Hearn.
The resolution was carried by an almost unanimous vote for the sale of 19000 square feet of unfitted shell space within the undercroft of the new West Stand to a consortium including Mr Hearn, in exchange for an immediate payment of £1.5m.
This payment would enable Leyton Orient to complete the fit out of the remaining 41000 square feet of space within the undercroft, to be used for Leyton Orient's facilities.
"I'm pleased with the decision because it means we will now be able to provide, for the start of next season, facilities which will rival any outside the Premiership and some within it, Mr Hearn said.
The Club will also share in any future profit that the consortium generates.
